Bringing Learning to Life — Together

Guided adventures for curious kids and the families who love them.

Kids learn deeper when there's a buddy on the trail and a scavenger hunt pulling them through the exhibit — suddenly they're reading the museum plaques, searching for answers, lingering longer than you ever expected. But something happens for parents too — walking shoulder to shoulder, swapping snacks and encouragement with families who just get it. Heartwise Learning Adventures designs curated field trips all around Los Angeles and Southern California so you can be fully present — not managing logistics, just making memories together.

Why I started Heartwise Learning Adventures

Remember that magical feeling of the lunchable in a brown bag your mom only packed on field-trip day? Field trips are some of the only memories I actually carry from my own school years — and when I became a homeschool mama (unexpectedly!), I knew I had to recreate that magic for my kids.

One-on-one adventures are fun, but there's something about exploring with your people — the energy, the friendships, the shared memories — that makes all the difference. I kept finding random one-off trips with strangers my kids would never see again. So I decided to do something about it.

That's why I created Heartwise — a thriving Friday Field Trip Club where the same families show up every week for intentional adventures together. If you're looking for that consistent, magical field-trip feeling — community, friendship, and learning that actually sticks — this is it. 🌳

How it works

Explore. Discover. Connect.

One promise behind every adventure:we handle the planning, so every Friday is pure discovery for your family.

01

Explore

We pick the place — a battleship, a Revolutionary War farm, an observatory — and design a hands-on adventure around it. You arrive to a day already mapped out.

02

Discover

Expert-led, hands-on learning ties play to real skills and history your kids actually keep. Every student takes home a Field Notes page — their stamp, key learning facts from the day, and a fun activity to complete.

03

Connect

The same families, every Friday. A small, consistent community with shared meals, park days, and friendships that outlast the season.

Every Friday, all mapped out

We work in themes. This fall it's We the People — celebrating 250 years of America through hands-on history that honors all perspectives. From the indigenous stewards who cared for this land long before us, to the Gutenberg press where the Declaration comes alive, all the way to a '90s flashback at a neon retro arcade. Every trip is intentional. Every trip is memorable.

"We found Heartwise last year and it's been so rewarding for my kids and I! My kids enjoy their Mondays at Heartwise — from Storybook to the STEM classes. The community has been the bonus and I've had the pleasure of making many new homeschool parent friends along the way! We also participate in the Learning Adventures on Fridays and let me tell you, these trips aren't just for the kids! They are for fully grown adults too."

"We love Heartwise Homeschool! My kids are one of the younger ones and still learning how to follow instructions, but everyone has been so patient and accommodating — especially Ms. Valerie, who's incredibly kind and understanding. The field trips are amazing, and the community is so friendly. It's been such a great experience!"

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Who are these adventures for?+

Every adventure is planned for TK through 8th-grade homeschoolers. Families register as one adult plus one child, so the activities land right where each age group thrives — siblings welcome.

Do I stay with my child?+

Yes — this isn't a drop-off program. It's a shared Friday: one parent attends with each child, and you can add siblings when you register. Learning, side by side.

What's included?+

For members: all admissions and supplies, the Learning Passport, end-of-season badge and Showcase, plus park days and bonus community events. For drop-ins and charter families: the full guided experience plus a Field Notes takeaway page documenting the day's learning.

Can I use my charter funds?+

Yes — we're an approved enrichment vendor through Taylion, and we welcome purchase orders from other charters too. Just ask your Education Specialist to request Heartwise Learning Adventures Co. as a vendor, or submit our charter inquiry form. Once approved, we invoice your charter directly at the charter rate.

What is a Field Notes page?+

Every drop-in and charter student takes home a Field Notes page after each adventure — a takeaway sheet with their stamp or sticker at the top, key learning facts from the day, and a fun activity or reflection to complete. Charter families can share this with their ES as documentation of the experience. And if you ever join the full Heartwise season, your Field Notes pages slip right into your Learning Passport.

What's the difference between the drop-in rate and the charter rate?+

Charter billing involves payment processing through your charter's purchase order system, payment timelines of 30–90 days, and additional documentation including curriculum summaries, attendance records, and itemized invoices. The charter rate reflects that additional administrative work.

Can I drop in without joining the full season?+

Absolutely. Every adventure is available as a drop-in ( except Friendsgiving) . You get the full experience — the guide, the activities, the Field Notes page — for the drop-in rate. No season commitment needed. If you love your experience-sign up for the membership & you save over $900!
